Review: Nude by Nature Makeup Brushes

I received the set of makeup brushes by Nude by Nature from one of my friends. I was so excited to try these out and I have a few things to say about these brushes.

1. Kabuki Brush
The first brush in this set is the Kabuki Brush. I am a big fan of this brush. The first time I used it, it gave my foundation such a nice smooth finish without me having to spend too much time trying to blend my makeup in. The bristles are soft so they're not harsh on the skin like some brushes can be.

2. Defining Blush/Powder Brush
This brush is also quite good and you can use it to apply any sort of powder. It is useful to contour your face with blush and bronzer as well as helping you to apply a mattefying powder if that's your thing.

3. Eye Shader
This brush is a wider brush that you can use to apply a base colour to your eyelashes. This gives you a nice smooth finish for you to be able to blend in the colour properly and give your eyes a proper finish. It is useful for both large eyelids and for a more petite crease also.

4. Eye Blending Brush
This brush is smaller than the eye shader and is useful to blend in the different shades in your eyelids. It is good to blend in the smaller sections like the corners of your eyes. The thinner structure of the brush allows you to be more precise with the colours you want to use on your eyes.

5. Concealer Brush.
I think this is my least favourite brush of the entire set. The reason for this is that while it serves to physically put the concealer on your face but I didn't find that it blends it into your face very well. It feels a little like the brush just spreads it bust doesn't really help to make your face look normal and flawless. I ultimately resorted to using the kabuki brush to blend concealer in. This actually gives a much nicer effect.

6. Eye Definer and Lip Brush
This is a dual-headed brush and I am absolutely in love with the eye definer.I found that this helps if you want to use a kohl eyeliner to give you a more smoky effect as well as just helping you blending in any colour you want to apply to your lash line. It is indeed very precise and easy to use so you won't screw up (something I am quite proficient in). The lip brush on the other end is also quite useful if you want to apply a gloss over your lip colour or blend in your lip liner. This brush is quite nice to use also.

7. Precision Sharpener
The last part of the set is a sharpener for any sort of pencil you have i.e eyeliners, lip liners etc. There really isn't much I can say about this. I mean, it's a sharpener. Full stop.

Overall, I am quite a fan of this brush set. Most of the brushes do what they're supposed to do and give a very smooth, professional finish. I would give this set a 9/10.

Get Ready With Me: Summer shopping!

Hi guys!
So today I wanted to do a get ready with me and I was going out to finish my Christmas shopping. Here in Australia it's summer at the moment not winter, so I went for a very simple, springtime look.
For my outfit I chose to go with black skinny jeans and a floral blouse.

I paired it with a pair of black sandals.

I decided to go for a very natural look with my makeup. I started with a colour corrector by Australis in gold. I use this mostly for dark circles, which I happen to permanently possess.

After this, I use Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer.

Foundation goes over this. I used the FitMe Maybelline Foundation in 120.

I finished my foundation with some powder just to mattify my face a little more. I used a simple powder brush to apply and used a stippling motion rather than sweeping.

After this, I decided to use a Bourjois blush in shade number 48. I used a small powder brush for this also.

I used the Maybelline Colossal Volum Express. This is my absolute favourite mascara at the moment. I really wanted to emphasise my eyes and this mascara makes your eyelashes look really full and long. I applied on my top and bottom lashes. Also, I closed my eyes and applied on the top of my eyelashes to make them look thicker.

I went for a nude lip just to keep my makeup look natural and make my eyes the emphasis.

I went for the Beyoncé Heat scent as I was feeling very tropical.

So here's the completed look:

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

As I have said in my other posts, I absolutely love Christmas and everything related to Christmas. December is just starting and one thing for me that is the biggest indicator that Christmas is fast approaching is when I put up the Christmas tree. I love doing this and I can get totally obsessive about it. This year I went for gold and red on my tree as last year I did silver and purple.

My favourite part is when it's night and it lights up with fairy lights and pretty things.

It makes my house feel so much more welcoming and festive along with the decorations if will be putting up outside soon.
Do these sort of things get you guys excited too or is it just me? Make sure to share below what your favourite things about Christmas are and what makes you excited for it.

Your beginners makeup kit!

Getting started with makeup can be daunting and confusing. I wrote this post just to give a little more insight into the basics of makeup.
1. Every building needs a great foundation
The very first thing you need to start your makeup kit is a good foundation. If it's your first foundation then you don't really need a very expensive one. A good drugstore foundation is the Maybelline Fit Me.

This foundation has a very nice finish without being too heavy on your skin. I use it in Classic Ivory and it's perfect for everyday makeup.
2. Make those eyes POP
Mascara is also a key essential in any beginners makeup kit. Just get yourself a simple eyelash curler and off you go. One of my favourites is Maybelline's Collosal Volume Express.

This is very easy to apply and makes your eyelashes look so much longer an thicker. I love this mascara.
3. Conceal, don't feel
I have managed to make staying up late watching tv shows a habit and that means that every morning I have DARK circles under my eyes. Concealer also got me through that awkward phase of breaking out for no apparent reason.

This is the particular one I'm using at the moment. Another one that's also in my rotation is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer.
4. In the nude
Lip colours are abundant. One shade that everyone should have is the easy breezy nude lip colour. Use this if you want to make your eyes stand out more, pairing it with liquid liner and a good mascara.

This particular one is Maybelline's Rose Glimmer. There are many other nude colours from different brands also.

Don't forget to smile!

Today I saw the most amazing quote and I couldn't help but take a photo.

This hits home with me simply because I often tend to forget. Life is so incredibly short. It is far too short to spend it worrying. Worrying has never nor will it ever fix anything. Take action. If there's something on your mind, say it. If you want to do something, do it. Seize the day. You can't afford anything less.

October Favourites!

There have been so many things that I have been using this month that I have absolutely falling in love with and I just thought I would share that with you guys!

The first thing is this sugar scrub. I absolutely love this, especially because my skin can get really dry. This scrub leaves your skin soft, smooth and smelling amazing. This particular one is from Fiji so I don't know if it is available anywhere else but you can find good sugar scrubs at stores like The Body Shop. Also, I have been researching how to make these yourself so I will try and put a tutorial for that up.

If you guys have read my other posts you would know that I am absolutely loving Formula 10.06's face scrub and moisturiser so I picked these up the other day just to try them out. They only cost me around $1 each but they do have bigger bottles. Guys, they are absolutely amazing. I have used so many face masks and most of them seem to either do nothing or really dry my skin out. These leave your skin really smooth without making it dry and removes all the junk from your face.

I have been using this for a while but I think it's important to mention simply because it can be used for so many different things. It can be used for dry skin, chapped lips, burns, scars, the list goes on. I generally use this at night before I go to bed on my lips and I wake up with moisturised and pretty lips.

The last of my favourites for this month is this heat protectant. I straighten my hair so much and this makes my hair sooo smooth without having to run over my hair too much. I got this one from Aldi and it only cost me around $6.

Well I hope you guys liked this post. I'm sorry, I realise that it's November but I didn't get a chance to upload it.

Product Review: Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves

Recently I bought this mascara and I payed around $20 for it. Personally, I absolutely love the Maybelline Volume Express but I thought I would give this one a shot. So here's what I think.
The first time I used it I thought the brush was very conveniently shaped. It's curved so that it goes with your eye shape and you can turn it so it works for both eyes. I really liked this, it makes it so much easier to apply and gives you a more even spread.
Once you apply it, it doesn't take very long to dry so that's a good thing. However, this mascara is not waterproof! I mean, it won't just start running but what I've noticed is that after a while it starts to smudge a little and under my eyes begin to darken with it.
Also, I've noticed that it can be a bit flaky. It has happened to me multiple times that I've looked and there has been little flakes or specs of black on my eye lid or under my eyes that weren't there when I applied.
Overall, it's pretty decent in the first couple of hours but later it needs to be reapplied and fixed. For someone who is busy and doesn't have time to be constantly fixing her makeup, it's not very good.
I would give it a 6.5/10!
Well, I hope this helped you guys,
Bye!

Top 3 Drugstore Lipsticks

So I have recently become obsessed with different colour of lipsticks to pair with different outfits and palettes. So I decided to make this post about my top 3 drugstore lipsticks right now.
The first I want to talk about is Rimmel's Moisture Renew Picadilly Pink. I absolutely fell in love with this colour when I saw it. It's a nice, soft pink and it kind of reminded me of spring when I saw it. It's such a sweet colour and will go with a natural palette for a girl next door look.

The second one is also by Rimmel and it's number 58 called Drop of Sherry. This colour is a little bold without being too in your face. It's more of a wine colour that would go perfectly with copper and brown tones for a perfect fall look.

The last one is Maybelline's Super Stay 14hr lipstick which is number 10 called Ultimate Blush. This lipstick is a nice roses hue. It isn't as sheer as the other two, this has more of a shine. It goes with both day and night makeup.

All three of these lipsticks can be found at any drugstore. I think for the first two I payed around $8 and around $12 for the Maybelline. I hope you guys enjoy them!
Bye :)

How to get healthy, glowing skin

Being a teenager, I often find myself faced with the issue of my skin. I think I speak for many girls as I say that there is nothing worse than waking up one morning and finding a massive pimple on your face. Recently though I've been seeing a massive improvement in my skin and I just wanted to share with you guys the things that have helped me.
(DISCLAIMER: I'm not a dermatologist, these are things that I have seen that have worked for me and that I hope might help you too).

1. Find yourself a good cleanser, toner and moisturiser.
These will become the essence of your skin care routine. Lately I have been adoring Formula 10.0.6's One Smooth Operator Pore Cleanser Face Scrub. To be honest, when I first bought it I didn't have much faith but when I used it I was amazed. It left my skin so smooth and soft and it has been keeping my skin just free from build up or blackheads.
I also use the toner from Formula 10.0.6 as well as their Picture Perfect Day moisturiser. I didn't actually use moisturiser before but I've realised how vital it really is to your skin. Like me, a lot of people think that if you use a moisturiser you'll just go really oily and break out. It's actually quite the opposite. If you don't give your skin the moisture it needs then it'll just go nuts overcompensating and you'll most likely break out. Although I do recommend these products, everyone's skin is different so have a look around, try different ones and see what works best for your skin type.

2. Remember to remove your makeup.
A lot of girls don't realise that they have to take all of their makeup off before going to bed. I understand that sometimes you're just lazy and you can't be bothered with it but it is really bad for your skin if you leave it on. Invest in a good makeup remover and make sure your face is nice and clean before bed.

3. DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE.
This one I hard. I know it's hard to resist but touching your face is only going to make it worse. You use your hands for everything and they are rarely 100% clean. The more you touch your face the more you spread the bacteria on to your face worsening the condition of your skin.

4. Try to be as oil-free as possible.
I have very oily skin so I struggle with this especially since I wear makeup almost every day. You really need to try and avoid the oil simply because that oil is what clogs your pores and is what causes you to get pimples. Besides, no one likes a shiny face right? Recently I've started using oil dabbing tissue and I think it's quite a good investment. It's a small pack so you can carry it in your purse and I think I paid around $6 for a pack of 50. These are good if you're wearing makeup and you can feel your skin getting oily. They won't disturb your makeup and they'll leave your face shine free. However, don't go crazy with this. Your face still needs a small amount of oil, just not excessively.

Well guys, those are my tips for getting better skin. I hope you guys enjoyed it. If you guys have any questions or if you have any suggestions don't hesitate to email me at @gabrielam550@gmail.com of leave a comment.
Bye!
